The Cattermole Memorial Library is a Richardsonian Romanesque building (built 1893/1894) that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and located in a National Register Historic District in quaint downtown Fort Madison. Located just steps from the Mississippi River and the charming shops of Main Street, the Cattermole is currently undergoing historic rehabilitations to turn the once city library into four new apartments on the upper-floor and the future home of the community organization, Fort Madison Partners.
The landmark building received national attention, having been named as one of the Top 100 nominations in the country during the 2011 National Trust for Historic Preservation's community challenge, This Place Matters!
The four (4) apartments are expected to be completed by late Fall 2014. In the interim, a waiting list has been started and there is limited availability. If you are interested in availability of the residential units, please contact us via e-mail at inquire@frantz-ci.com. Seriously interested applicants will have to complete an application and application fee, background check and income documentation.
