The Lee County Savings Bank is located in historic downtown Fort Madison. Located just steps from the Mississippi River and the charming shops of Main Street, When it was constructed in 1892/1893, it was the tallest building in downtown, and remains so to this date. Originally having housed the post office and numerous professional offices and businesses, the building has always been at the heart of commercial activity in the downtown area.

 

Once restored, this gem will offer fourteen (14) one-bedroom apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floors. A few of the units will even have breathtaking Mississippi River views and free city parking is located just across the street. Construction is expected to state in the late Fall of 2014 and be completed by early 2015.
